How to Book a Turf in Nashik: A Practical Guide

The step-by-step guide to booking a Nashik turf without losing your weekend.

📅

Booking a turf in Nashik should take five minutes. In practice, most first-time bookers spend half an hour, hit a WhatsApp black hole, get quoted three different prices, and end up either overpaying or booking a mediocre pitch. Here's the shortcut.

Step 1. Decide the format first, not the venue

Before you look at a single turf, decide what you're playing (cricket, football, box cricket, badminton), how many people, and for how long. This is the single biggest predictor of price. A 90-minute box cricket booking for 10 people is a completely different search from a 2-hour 7v7 football for 14.

Step 2. Pick your neighbourhood window

The single biggest reason bookings fall apart is the venue being too far from half the squad. Look at where your regulars actually live and pick a turf within a 15–20 minute drive of the most distant one. Nashik is small enough that this is almost always solvable, and it doubles your show-up rate.

Step 3. Look for the four non-negotiables

  • Real astroturf with rubber-crumb infill (not a green mat over concrete)
  • Floodlights that cover the full pitch, corner to corner
  • Toilets and drinking water on site
  • Parking that fits at least 6–8 cars without street chaos

Step 4. Pick the right time slot

Weekend evenings between 6pm and 10pm are the most expensive and hardest to find. If your squad can flex to 7–9am on a Sunday morning, you'll pay 30–40% less and have your pick of every turf in Nashik. Late night (10pm onwards) is another value slot, proper cricket under the lights, no waiting.

Step 5. Confirm before you pay

  1. Confirm the exact start and end time in writing.
  2. Confirm the price per hour AND whether anything is extra (nightlights, extra players, wickets).
  3. Confirm the cancellation policy (a 24-hour full refund is standard; anything less is worth pushing back on).
  4. Confirm the exact address and where to enter, some turfs share compounds with wedding halls and you'll spend 10 minutes finding the right gate.

Step 6. Pay smart

For a first booking with a new turf, pay a small advance (₹200–₹500) and settle the rest on arrival, this keeps the turf honest about the state of the pitch. For a turf you trust, full advance is fine and often gets you a small discount.

What to do on the day

  • Message the turf 3 hours before to confirm your slot, sometimes turfs double-book and won't tell you until you show up.
  • Turn up 10 minutes early. Turfs run tight schedules on weekends and you don't get bonus time.
  • Warm up outside the pitch while the previous group finishes to protect your paid time.
  • Collect equipment (bat, ball, stumps) at the start, not mid-game.

The most common booking mistakes

  • Booking a turf without checking floodlight coverage, you find out mid-innings.
  • Booking a 1-hour slot for 14 people, you'll play 40 minutes of actual game.
  • Not confirming the price in writing, surprises appear at the exit.
  • Booking too far from the squad, half your team is late, you play with 8.
