The Best (and Worst) Time to Book a Turf in Nashik & Pune
Peak-hour maths that saves 30% and gets you the pitch you actually wanted.
Every turf you're looking at has three prices: the peak price, the off-peak price, and the 'if you book this awkward slot we'll basically give it to you' price. Most people only ever pay the peak. Here's how to work the calendar in your favour.
The peak hours to avoid (if you can)
- Friday 7pm–10pm, the single busiest slot of the week. Peak pricing, hardest to book, most squad drops.
- Saturday 6pm–10pm, full peak. Book 5+ days out or you're settling for a mediocre pitch.
- Sunday 7am–10am, surprisingly full, especially for cricket. Book by Thursday for a Sunday morning slot.
- Wednesday 8pm–10pm, the mid-week football hotspot. 3–4 days lead time.
The value slots most people ignore
- Weekday mornings (6am–9am). 30–40% cheaper, empty, and you play before the day starts. Great if your squad has 3+ early risers.
- Weekday afternoons (2pm–5pm), even cheaper, only viable in winter, but a genuine steal if you can pull it off.
- Late night (10pm–1am). 20–30% off prime pricing. Floodlit, quiet, no queues. Best if your squad ends the day together.
- Sunday evening (7pm onwards). Sunday mornings and afternoons fill up first; the evening slot often has space.
Seasonal shifts to plan around
- Monsoon (June–Sept): open turfs are unreliable. Book covered turfs, confirm morning-of, and expect 10–15% peak-time discounts because demand dips.
- Winter (Nov–Feb): peak season, especially early mornings. Book weekend slots 1 week out.
- Summer (Mar–May): evenings 8pm+ are the only comfortable slots. Peak pricing after 8, cheaper before.
- Festival weeks (Diwali, holidays): everything is booked for corporate tournaments. Squad games get squeezed.
How far in advance to book
- Weekend evening prime slot at a top turf: 5–7 days minimum
- Weekday evening at a top turf: 3–4 days
- Off-peak weekend morning: 24–48 hours
- Late-night or weekday morning: same day is fine
Booking tricks that save real money
- Ask about block-booking discounts. 4 hours in one go is often 20% cheaper per hour than four separate 1-hour slots.
- Book a monthly slot (same time, same turf, every week), most turfs offer 15–25% off the peak rate for a 4-week commitment.
- Split a slot with another squad, half the turf, half the price, both squads get a real 45-minute match instead of a rushed 60-minute one.
- Book back-to-back with a squad you know, sometimes the turf gives one of you a discount for delivering a full 2-hour block of confirmed play.
When cancellation windows matter most
Peak slots have the strictest cancellation windows because they're the easiest to resell. Off-peak slots often have flexible cancellation, worth asking. If your squad is unreliable about confirming, off-peak isn't just cheaper, it's also less risky.

Browse all turfsThe one calendar habit that changes everything
Lock the same slot every week, same day, same time, same turf. Turf owners love recurring bookings and often lock in a discount for you. Your squad stops needing to WhatsApp about scheduling. And the pitch is 'yours' in a way that a random Friday slot never will be.
