Top Football Turfs in Pune for Weekend 5v5 and 7v7

Pune football turfs, ranked by what actually matters when the whistle goes.

⚽

Pune's football turf scene has grown from a small handful of pitches to more than 30 in the last few years, most of them decent, a few of them properly excellent. This is a straight-talking take on which ones deserve your weekend, sorted by neighbourhood and format.

Baner & Balewadi, the premium picks

The best-maintained football pitches in Pune sit in the Baner–Balewadi corridor. Proper 40–60mm turf, full LED floodlights, real metal goals with tight nets, and rest areas with actual water and clean bathrooms. Weekend prime slots for 7v7 run ₹2,200–₹3,200 per hour, steep, but you get a facility that feels professional.

Kothrud & Karve Nagar, the reliable regulars

Not the fanciest, but the most reliable. Well-established football turfs, honest owners, pitches that get regular maintenance. Weekend 5v5 slots at ₹1,300–₹1,700 per hour. If you want a squad regular and don't want to burn ₹2,500+ every Sunday, this is where to lock in.

Hinjewadi & Wakad, after-work efficiency

Optimised for the IT crowd. Tight 90-minute slots, big lots for parking, straightforward booking. Great for a Wednesday 7pm 5v5 with your office team. Downside: extremely busy on weeknights (Mon–Thu after 7pm), and you'll need to book a week out.

Kharadi, Viman Nagar, Wagholi, east Pune

A mix of great and average. The good ones are excellent and cheaper than west Pune. The average ones have thinning turf, poor floodlight coverage in the corners, and unreliable staff. Visit before you commit to a season.

5v5 vs 7v7 vs full-side, how to choose

  • 5v5: everyone gets touches, easy to get 10 players together, most Pune turfs are sized for this, start here.
  • 7v7: you need 14+ regulars, more strategic (real formations become useful), harder to fill on short notice.
  • Full-side (11v11): rare in Pune outside of proper sports clubs. Balewadi Sports Complex is the obvious option.

What 2026 pricing looks like

  • 5v5 weekday evening: ₹900–₹1,400 per hour
  • 5v5 weekend evening prime: ₹1,400–₹2,000 per hour
  • 7v7 weekday evening: ₹1,500–₹2,200 per hour
  • 7v7 weekend evening prime: ₹2,200–₹3,200 per hour
  • Late-night (10pm+): 20–30% cheaper across all formats

The monsoon problem

Pune monsoon is brutal on outdoor turfs. Between June and September, at least half the open turfs are unplayable on any given weekend. Look for turfs with proper drainage (ask them how quickly the pitch drains, good turfs answer in minutes, bad ones dodge the question) or covered turfs. Confirm your booking the morning of the match; even good turfs sometimes have to cancel.

Getting more football out of a 60-minute booking

  • Warm up outside the turf while the previous group finishes, you'll bank 10 minutes.
  • Agree teams before you step on. Team-picking on the pitch eats 5 minutes and starts arguments.
  • Rolling subs, not rotations, keeps the game flowing.
  • One person keeps time on their phone with a clear whistle-blow at 30 minutes to swap ends.
